YouTube
Can you remember the world before Youtube? I certainly can't! YouTube has and has been the world's most popular online location for video, content creation and sharing for years. The platform was brought to life in 2005, but swiftly after its launch, "Google purchases Youtube for $1.65 Billion" (LiveTiles, 2). Due to its sheer social impact and interest, it has become a place where you can find help from literally everything. Over the years the phenomenon has opened careers for professional creators commonly referred to as "YouTuber" but also a marketplace for companies and businesses to promote and market their trade.
As mentioned above, the platform YouTube has become a marketplace for business to gain exposure. This can be done through Business Channels where they advertise their products in their own videos. This is an effective way to grow an internet family. However, there are other ways that when combined with this method, that can make a huge difference. This is through advertisements either box ads you can find at the top right corner above the "Recommended" list of videos to watch when you are on a video or as a banner ad that pops up at the bottom of the Video player when watching a video. The next method is sponsoring or including your ads in other creators videos. To be able to have this benefit, you or the other creators must "monetize" their videos. This all can be done from the Video Manager on a channel. There you will find the options to be able to include ads and what format you'd like to use in your videos.
When setting up a business channel you want to make it professional and structured. For this to be achieved you want to ensure you have some elements in place!
These are:
- High-Quality Cover Photo: This wants to include brand identity and any social media accounts this was you can make it clear you are on other platforms. This needs to be appropriately sized to the dimensions of (2560 x 1440 pixels)
- High-Quality Profile Picture: Having your profile picture or creator image will make your channel look more polished and legitimate. This will need to be sized to the dimensions of (800 x 800 pixels)
- Channel Information: This is vital and will add a lot of value and professionalism to your channel. You want to include information for your account such as a good channel name, bio and any other contact information. That way fans and viewers can have access to information about you, your company, and contact information.
Do you know much about the EcoSystem of Youtube? Here are some facts:
- 56 countries post content in 61 languages

When being a creator, you have to know what you want to create, who are you going to target, and what your goal is. You want to base your content whether it be personal or business oriented around your audience's needs or interests. The more you can specifically target the people you want to reach which is your target audience, the better the response you are going to receive from your uploaded content.
Social media has become almost "like a job" and requires consistency. This covers, consistency of uploading, format and the use of tone in your videos. To grow your channel, you are going to want to share your content on other platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Other methods are to upload your content to your website or blog. As a result of doing this successfully, you will begin to acquire subscribers, and they will spend more time watching your content than watching others that they are not subscribed to.
